ACTION ALERT — Ten Commandments in Michigan!!!

March 14, 2005

Justice Roy Moore’s Ten Commandments monument on tour in Michigan this week!

Dear AFA-Michigan supporter,

You may recall that former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore — the “Ten Commandments judge” — placed a 5,000-pound display of the Ten Commandments in the lobby of the state Supreme Court and refused to remove it. Because of his insistence that Alabama had a constitutional duty to acknowledge God, he was removed from office by an appointed panel of judges despite having been elected by over 60 percent of the people of Alabama.

Several Fridays ago, Gov. Jennifer Granholm said on Lansing TV that she would support displaying the Ten Commandments in our state Capitol rotunda. (She flip-flopped on the issue within 48 hours and said she opposes the display.)

Nonetheless, the very next day, on Saturday morning, AFA-Michigan contacted the veterans group that has taken Judge Moore’s Ten Commandments monument on tour throughout the country this past year and asked them to add Michigan to their tour schedule.

Rep. Jack Hoogendyk, R-Kalamazoo, a strong and trustworthy voice in the Legislature for traditional family values, also contacted the tour group and is sponsoring the monument’s visit to Michigan this week. (See tour schedule below)

Please show your support for America’s right to acknowledge God and the foundational role the values of the Ten Commandments of God have played in our nation’s history and heritage.
