DETROIT NEWS — Conservative flag will hang in Howell High School

March 30, 2006

“The recently recognized Traditional Values Club has won the right to hang its organization’s flag in the stairwell of Howell High School next to the Diversity Club’s rainbow-colored flag, which some say represents gay pride. The Traditional Values Club flag is red, white and blue, symbolizing patriotism, and it features a red ‘t’ which stands for traditional values. The lowercase ‘t’ also resembles a cross, representative of the Christian faith. …’It’s a Christian flag obviously, and I’m thrilled the club decided on having a Christian emblem to represent them,’ (Livingston Organization for Values in Education spokesperson Vicki) Fyke said.”

CHRISTIAN YOUTH — Conservative activist training in Lansing!

March 22, 2006

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Please forward this message to your church and other parents.

Dear AFA-Michigan supporter…

…and other parents and youth pastors.

You have a great opportunity in April to help train your politically-interested teens to be effective activists for traditional Judeo-Christian values in the public policy arena.

The Leadership Institute will be conducting on-site training in Lansing April 21-23, which I urge you to encourage your teens and other young people to attend. (See details below)

I attended this school in Washington, D.C. in 1978 and was immediately offered two campaign jobs. As a result, I managed my first campaign for the Legislature that year at age 20, and over two dozen years of political and public policy activism have followed since. This school is literally how I got started.

My wife, vice-chair of the College Republican National Committee in the mid-80’s, also attended this school and later managed campaigns for Congress, lt. governor, the state Supreme Court, and the legislature.

My son attended this school in East Lansing two years ago, leading (so far) to a 3-month internship this past summer at the Leadership Institute headquarters in Washington, D.C.

I highly recommend this campaign training school for conservative young people who want to make a public policy difference for Godly values in the culture in which they will have to raise their children.

DAILY TRIBUNE — Conservative Christian group vows to fight gay rights ordinance

March 6, 2006

“A conservative Christian activist group plans to campaign against a gay rights ordinance that the City Council is expected to pass sometime this spring. Gary Glenn of the American Family Association of Michigan said Thursday he has already been contacted by a Ferndale resident concerning Ferndale’s consideration of a third attempt to pass a gay rights ordinance. …Openly gay Councilman Craig Covey raised the issue of bringing the gay ordinance back, saying he believes the council and city voters would now pass the measure. ‘I’m not surprised to hear that the extremist jackals of the religious right may once again descend on Ferndale to fight against equal rights,’ Covey said.” (more…)

WARNING — AMERICAN PROSPECT — Marriage Blitz

March 3, 2006

***WARNING***
Homosexual activists cannot be any clearer about their game plan. We must respond in kind, or consign our children to live in a culture that persecutes, even criminalizes Christianity.

THE AMERICAN PROSPECT
